Mother Said - Tallulah

Based in Leeds, but with two female lead singers from Newcastle, this is Art-Rock 5-piece Mother Said with their latest cut Tallulah. It is the band's paen to the act of not wanting to look after a man's best friend. No, not his little winky, but the furry, canine one usually found on the end of a leash. No, I said not his.....oh lordy.........walk on!

Have I confused you? I'll let the band explain: "Tallulah is an art-rock tune about the monotony of the domestic and not wanting to walk the dog. It explores the feeling of displeasure for the day-to-day tasks we all face and a desire for some unconventionality."

Musically, there's an almost bluesy roll to the angular guitars, but the girls make sure the whole production definitely remains in new wave territory with their brisk cries and shrieks of disobedience. There's quite a lot of swearing, but I have to say that the band dress rather well in their press images.

Anyway, be a angel and take Tallulah for a walk today. Woof!
