Shelf Lives - Bite

Brace yourselves, this is Shelf Lives with their new single called Bite. Even before the track starts proper, there's a pleasingly odd spoken word intro, complete with some time-streeeeeeeetching (always love a bit of that). After that, the song chomps along with a pumping electronic rhythm and some tasty chunks of shouty post-punk vocals. Just as you start to settle down, the track bears its real fangs and tears into a warped, sonic overdrive. And so it continues, without even a hint of any filling....brilliant stuff.

The electro-punk duo say the song is “about the battle between your awake spiritual brain that is trying its best to be a better person and to let go of its pride, and catching yourself going back to that angry monkey brain. That’s why it’s called ‘BITE’, because it’s the most primitive thing we can do when we feel scared.”

The video is pretty messy, too. Go on, have a little nibble!
