Quite a raw recording, but The Martyr has created enough of hook within My Friends Look Funny, that it manages to carry the tune over the line. It also gives it a fairly authentic post-punk era feel, when times were simpler and music wasn't overproduced and created by taste committees. I like that aspect, just makes it a bit more genuine and you can enjoy this electro gothic piece on face value.
