It heartens the soul to know that even in war-torn Ukraine, someone is merrily bashing out some decent drum and bass. That's what electronic music composer/producer Distorise is doing and his latest recording, Flow Of Time, is an excellently crunchy slab of beats with reversed violin, subtle vocal elements, anolog synths and, bizarrely, the sound of sand. The concept behind the song is that "Time is not what you think. It's impossible to see it from a side and comprehend its nature. Time is not your friend, but you can't exist without it". For me, the track represents a creative two fingers up to those in the Kremlin, let's hope the sands of their time run out soon. Until then, whack the volume up and give this a spin.
