Wuzy Bambussy - Flux

The great pop klaxxon is going off again, that's all thanks to Wuzy Bambussy's latest single Flux. From the very offset, it is a terrific production, mixing elements of electro with rock guitar and classical strings, along with a subtly interwoven drum and bass shuffle. Bristolian chanteuse, Kat Harrison, guests on vocals, delivering some poignant words with delicate clarity. In particular, the following lines caught my ear "my lionheart is failing, setting a course for self destruct" and "the leaders counting their coin, for their souls are curdled". I am always pleased to discover some lyrically depth to a song - and what's more, the song has a splendid tune with big pop hooks to hang all that angst on.

Based in England's West Country, Wuzy Bambussy is the alter ego of producer, songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Nikolai Jones. As of March, Bambussy will be releasing a single-a-month for 10 consecutive months. Flux is the second installment, with the first having already made it to the BBC Introducing Mixtape for April, personally discovered and championed by that good-egg, Tom Robinson.
