4ra 4ra's latest recording, A.I. Dark Love, has the distinct whiff of one of those bonkers Eurovision songs about it. At first, the ear-splitting vocal pitch had me worried about the dog, but then I figured that was all part of the concept behind the song; the relationship between the sugar-coated and the ugly truth. Sitting somewhere between J-pop and cyberpunk, with a right-click of electro-glitch, this is one of those tracks which will initially make you frown a little, but then a crooked-smile will soon follow. My suggestion is that you should simply step into 4ra 4ra's realm for a moment and enjoy the fun ride.
As 4ra 4ra explains "This is a song about a love tragedy between humans and artificial intelligence" and "explores the illusion of fairytale virtual adoration that faces the harsh reality of awakening. There is a polarity between these two worlds - the logic of capitalism A.I. run by business and real human love in virtual space. Human emotions are still an irreplaceable and important aspect of being human, and this is what separates us from technology for now."
4ra 4ra is a music producer, singer and songwriter, having been "updated from the art scene", she uses many elements of 3D, avatars and game design in her work. That's all true, I have had a special preview of the stylish music video for the single and I will post it on the blog when it is released. In the meantime, have a listen to the audio for this eye-brow raiser below:
