London-based band Megalashhh are Alessia Stranieri (bass guitar/vocals), Cal Rae (guitar) and Caleb Watson (vocals/drum machine/electronics). They describe themselves as "three stay at home parents weaving tunes and scheming big hits". On the evidence of The Mare, I think they should abandon any aspirations about creating "big hits" and instead continue along this fine path of producing such captivating recordings. That's where long-term legacies are made and that's how their audience should grow more naturally, they just need the right people to hear them. What's it like? Well, sort of an electronic shoegaze hybrid with a deftly floating vocal. A beautiful sound palette which rewards on every play. So, yeah, throw away any thoughts about fast food popularity and join me in really appreciating The Mare.
