Nervous pop? Certainly a genre I have never heard of before, but I like the sentiment. That's what you get with Ought by Australia's Underlay. The track rolls along nicely with a pleasant, but fairly subdued indie pop feel, then every so often you get a colourful blast of sound which is like a glorious burst of golden sun pushing through the melancholy clouds.
As Cody Brougham explains "This was the last song written for the EP and felt like the perfect ending for the chapter of my life that I wanted to write about. It’s about friend breakups, and basically me venting my anger about how someone had hurt me but also trying to move on. It’s a pretty pointed song towards someone and I hope they hear it".
