There must be something good in the water in Sweden, following on from other great acts coming out of one of my favourite countries, Gothenburg's Boy With Apple have just released a corker of a dream pop/shoegaze tune called GBG Hills. The song jangles with more freshness and zest than an lemon, but in typical Scandinavian style there's a twist, the song speaks about mental illness, about being alone and dancing with the darkness. Boy With Apple members Saga, Zara, Tim, and Nils have a strong bond of friendship and say that "just want to create a mesmerizing world of eternal sunlight touching your face, long embraces from someone you love, and unconditional comfort". With an album due out on 15th March, GBG Hills is already providing one step towards that goal. One of those tracks which you can't help but sway along to. Also worth noting that this is another release from the Swedish indie label, VÅRØ, which I seem to be becoming quite a fan of.
