Ceremony Shadows - Impetus

Impetus is Ceremony Shadows' first release since progressing into a full band and as an opening gambit it works a treat. It is easy to see why the 'ritual darkwave' band say this is a favourite at their live shows, there's that classic sense of moody electro, robotic beats and deadpan vocals, all combining to propel the arrangement along adeptly. 

Ceremony Shadows say the song is about "running towards the things that scare you, so that you can grow as a person. During the creation of this track, we all pushed our creative boundaries to write a song that reflects our desire for growing as artists, and the lyrics reflect this process as well".

That all bodes well for their forthcoming album, which I look forward to hearing. Accompanying the single version of Impetus, the band have also released a couple of remixes. Those are all certainly worth a listen, too.
