The Sweet Kill - Forbidden

LA's The Sweet Kill have a splendid new darkwave single out called Forbidden, it harks back to the golden era of post-punk goth, but throws in a more contemporary tone. The production is spot on, a great balance of synths and guitars, with an almost faultless baritone vocal from Pete Mills. The pleasing factor is that the song itself is extremely well composed, the verses building deftly into the big, bold choruses. There's both grime and shine, with a strong enough hook to easily warrant repeat plays. The b&w video, directed by Ellen Hawk, is also pretty stylish. Go on, take a bite of this ripe new single.
