Abrasive and beautiful, Hit The Ground, the second single from Sweden's It's For Us charms with a distinctive guitar-charged sound which cascades, sparkles and rumbles. Between all that abstraction lies a tremendously effective vocal combination which, although relatively restrained, provides the core hook to keep everything grounded. Taken from the band's forthcoming album, Out Of Time, the song touches on "the double-edged sword that is coming out the other side of pain, loss and trauma. How it can be a strength, a rebirth of sorts, like a broken bone that grows back together stronger than before – but how it can also become a cop-out used for self-protection, distancing yourself by projecting that you are untouchable, having already hit the ground". Put quite simply, this is a great recording. Listen under headphones for extra enjoyment.
