Blog favourites The Unlimited Stars are back with a new line-up and a new recording for Valentine's Day. As far as I am concerned, love could not be better expressed than with their superb cover version of the goth classic Bela Lugosi's Dead. Call me an old romantic, but the memory it triggers of those gloomy, happy days of Bauhaus casting an ominous shadow over the pop charts, makes my heart pound with joy. I have a stack of Bauhaus vinyl in my loft, including the Bela Lugosi's Dead 12" - so this was very familiar territory. To their credit, The Unlimited Stars haven't messed around with it too much - and hearing it sung with a female lead vocal almost gives it a new life - or maybe the track simply remains.....undead?
