Liminal Shade are Mar Boreal, a singer, voice-over actor and video producer from Honduras, accompanied by John von Seggern, a bassist and electronic music producer. Their latest release, Sombra Liminal, has an interesting origin. The track began as Mar's personal take on the Honduran national anthem, which she wrote during a time of crisis and turbulence for the country. The piece, written with love, was then developed further with John adding "grooves and atmospheres", elements which the duo feel provided a much needed feeling of hope for the future.
Sombra Liminal is a quietly reflective instrumental, the beats act more as a heartbeat than a dancebeat and the arrangement glistens subtly rather than blinding with too much complexity. Thoughtful music with great cover artwork - please give it a listen.
