Bytet - Dein Machina

Dein Machina by Bytet is another tune with a strong percussive element. Happily, once again, it is a recording which spins towards more experimental territory, but retains enough musicality to engage the listener. Formed by Robert Geiger, Bytet have been recording since 1989 and Dein Machina showcases the latest progression in sound. The track has quite a heavy, industrial backbone, but that mechanical rhythm is beautified by some transfixing tones, which sound almost like opening a music-box. The overall feel is that of riding a rusty, old train through a cavern of tinkling, electric icicles whilst listening to a monologue on a radio, with its battery life ebbing away. Strangely mesmerising.
