Gold Dime's Wasted Wanted is a few months old now, but that is no worry to me. As a lead single from their album, No More Blue Skies, it shines and, indeed, squeals above most of the more experimental post-punk material that lands on my virtual doormat. Sonically, it is a direct assault on the senses with a demonic tribal percussion sliced apart with shards of vicious, piercing guitar. A post-apocalyptical wasteland of a tune which sounds like brutalist glam rock thrown into an industrial cement mixer, whilst band leader, Andrya Ambro, acts as a manic ringmaster, mocking from the sidelines. Genius! Very noisy genius!
