Oakland-based outfit Parallel have a new mini-album in the pipeline for July and Blister is the first single from that release. Presented here with an arty stop-motion video, the track showcases the band's signature sound which harks back to the shoegaze scene of the 1990s. The recording provides an inner-thinking intimacy, brushed with an outwardly permeating dreaminess. The band suggest that the track is a "a haunting exploration of loss and the promise of possibility" with the words evoking "the duality of desire, its destructive and generative aspects, inviting listeners to step beyond the ordinary and into a dreamscape both beautiful and unsettling".
'Flooded', the six-track mini-album, will be available as a 12” record and cassette on Play Alone Records and Cherub Dream Records.
