Party Like Robots x Alex Hast - Kill Your Hopes!

I have a penchant for robots, so it is a bit of a no-brainer for me to select a track by a band called Party Like Robots (featuring Alex Hast). Not only that, Kill Your Hopes! includes the lines "Marching forward, Like a robot, No emotions, I`m a robot".

Having said all that in a jovial manner, the subject matter behind the recording is something that weighs heavy on the heart; the war in the Ukraine. Both collaborators are based in the Ukraine, making this a very personal track. They say "It represents meaningfulness, cruelness and hopelessness of the war. It was written during the first months of the full scale russian invasion of Ukraine, and highly inspired by the ongoing situation. The title basically says it all: we all emotionless robots who payed incredible prices for a chance to obtain freedom. But we should not rely on our hopes, we must march forward with no regrets and expectations, because we have no other choice."

Musically, the piece is a strong melding of industrial noise and pin-point electronic wizardry - with both genres working together well, rather than battling to take centre-stage. Please give it a spin and continue to support Ukrainian musicians.
