The London-based outfit ZELT have a great new track out called Ayva Çiçek Açmış and probably, like me, the title means nothing to you. Resisting temptation, I am not going to attempt a translation until the end of this review (building the jeopardy!). The song is a re-working of a traditional Turkish tune, using a hybrid of electro, rock and Turkish vocals. That would usually result in a cheesy Eurovision vibe, but thankfully ZELT have attacked the piece with subtlety and finesse, making this more of a leftfield ear-worm, something more indie than pop. Good job. Now for the title reveal.... Quince in Flower. Pretty and good!
