Looming in the darkness with their latest release called Sturm der Schatten (which translates as "Storm of Shadows"), German metal act ANTONOW has gone beyond the usual trappings of the genre to create a song which should appeal to a wider audience. The arrangement is highly accomplished with a real sense of drama working alongside the heavier, rock elements. The overall balance between aggression and thoughtfulness is well executed, with operatic tones and a strong and powerful German language vocal taking the listener into a distinctly gothic wilderness.
