Belgrade’s Salt Mirror are an alternative, nu-metal and emo band keeping the spirit of the 2000s alive, and 'Castaway' makes that mission abundantly clear.
Sung in English, the “keep away, stay away” part of the lyric feels like a signpost for anyone who likes their music gentle and restrained - because this certainly isn’t. The vocals carry a grunge-screamo feel, while rolling waves of guitars keep rolling in towards the ending, leaving a dense, bruising final impression. Loud and raw, Salt Mirror make noise seem like plain sailing.
