Charm School are releasing a flurry of great tracks and hot on the heels of a couple of stand-out mixes of 'Simulacra', comes an absolute electronic thumper called 'Desolation'. Appearing as part of the same EP, the track was recorded as a one-off in collaboration with EBM super-producer Matia Simovich (of InHalt fame).
For lovers of darkwave and old school electro, the song strikes home from the very start - the opening line "I know just what you want" could not be more correct. This is exactly what we want, just like that classic Depeche Mode knack of engineering bright pop hooks within a tormented context - 'Desolation' is a fantastic tune.
